Choreographed Crosswalk

About the Project:
The “Choreographed Crosswalk” included nearly 20 individuals taking part in a choreographed dance, also known as a “flash mob”, at the King Street-University Avenue intersection while the walk sign illuminated. The goal of the event was to demonstrate the positive possibilities that can arise from perceiving urban spaces in new and exciting ways. Dancing as we crossed the street helped reveal a new perception of the busy Honolulu intersection. New perceptions are fertile grounds for a reordering of the social, cultural, physical, and political spaces in which we live.
