About the Project:
In 2020, we began our “Parklet Blitz” by partnering with local businesses, community organizations, and artists to bring three parklets to the Kaimuki neighborhood. A parklet is a mini park space within an on-street parking stall that includes benches, tables, chairs, planters, and landscaping. Parklets are temporary installations that can be in place for a period ranging from several months to several years.

*We are currently working with community partners to bring additional parklets to the Chinatown, Kalihi, and Kailua neighborhoods.

Project Goals:
Quick-build, activate street level, prioritize pedestrian experience, support local businesses
